"Beating 1.d4 sidelines"
Just thought I'd mention that I bought the book Beating 1.d4 Sidelines by Boris Avrukh and that the analysis poses no threat to Phoenix attack users. In the critical variation he doesn't mention a strong move given by Rudel. As a whole I think the book is quite good but apparently he hasn't seen Rudel's book.

Hi Glenn,

Which variation of the Phoenix attack does Avrukh cover in the book. The Zukertort-Phoenix or the Koltanowski-Phoenix?

Sorry to take so long to respond to this. I was referring to the Koltanowski-Phoenix, he doesn't appear to cover the Zukertort-Phoenix at all.
