So I've watched Summerscale's 150 Attack DVD. Interesting stuff, especially since almost none of his games covered the typical attack that I've used against class C players (launching the h pawn up the king side to try for a mating attack). His line mostly focused on stuff that I've occasionally seen from higher level players, usually revolving around queen side counterplay with c6 and b5. In that case, white plays Bd3 to defend the e4 pawn, then after black plays b4 (sometimes encouraged by white's a4), the c3 knight moves to e2, then usually g3. In these cases, white usually castles king side to avoid black's queen side attack.
So again, I say answer 1. d4 d6 with 2. e4 and head for a Pirc, attacking with the 150. --Fromper |
